Universal has built a new school for Cincinnati’s Academy for Multilingual Immersion Studies (AMIS) for Cincinnati Public Schools. This new 61,000 SF building was built following LEED specifications and features classroom space, full kitchen and dining area, conference rooms, and a full gymnasium. The scope of work for this project included the demolition of the previous school structure, site excavation, concrete foundations, and new above ground construction. The new building consists of concrete foundations, poured slab on grade, pre-cast hollow core with 2” topping slab, load bearing masonry, structural steel, metal deck, and metal studs. The exterior envelope is brick veneer with aluminum windows and aluminum entrances and storefronts. Interior amenities include acoustical ceilings, carpet, stained concrete, VET, and ceramic tile floors.
