Union Carpenters
Perform commercial construction carpentry work as required by the project.

Union Laborers
Perform work as required by the project, which may include duties such as: hand excavating and grading, assisting carpenters in construction, and general site clean-up.

Union Finishers
Perform various concrete work as needed to complete the project, such as: placing and finishing concrete sidewalks, drives, stairs, and curbs.

Administrative Assistant
Seeking a responsible applicant to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks on a full-time basis. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities. This person would also be responsible for the input and processing of the weekly field payroll and other various tasks related to the payroll function.

Project Superintendents
Involved in direct day-to-day production, and serve as the on-site contact for the specified project. Superintendents perform scheduling, coordination, and supervision of all subcontractors and field employees. This position requires organization, blueprint-reading and communication skills. Experience with supervising employees and job site experience is required.

Project Managers/Project Engineers
Become involved in all aspects of commercial construction from estimating through field engineering and project closeout. Graduates with good academic credentials who show self-motivation, good work ethic, and the ability to handle increased responsibility will advance in pay and position.

Co-Op Students
Universal Contracting Corporation is always looking for top students with whom we can entrust many of our project responsibilities. At Universal, our Co-Ops receive a well-rounded experience into all aspects of the project. They are involved in many aspects of a project, from start to finish. Some duties include:

o Performing quality take-offs during the Estimating phase
o Updating our subcontractor database and sending bid invitations, as well as assisting with the bid day activities
o Become familiar with project plans, specifications, and project scheduling
o Constructing RFI responses
o Collecting closeout documentation and submittals

Many of our Co-Ops stay with us the entire duration of their co-op careers as they realize the variety of work experience Universal provides. Those that show they can handle these responsibilities will be considered as leading candidates for future positions within the company.
