Universal understands that safety is of utmost importance to all projects. We believe that our safety standard makes us a reputable company and sets us above the rest.  Safety Awareness is one of our core values, and is a condition of employment both for our employees, as well as for our subcontractors.

Due to our diligent focus on safety awareness and training programs, Universal has achieved an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) of 0.53. We have set out to not only meet industry safety standards, but to exceed them, and work constantly to innovate safer means and methods of construction.

Universal has fully incorporated a companywide safety program from our corporate office to every project, large or small. As part of this program, all personnel performing work for Universal are required to complete a safety orientation directed by our site safety representative.

The minimum Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement on every Universal job site includes:

  • Hard Hat
  • Safety Glasses
  • Shirts with sleeves
  • Long Pants
  • Steel Toe boots with defined heel, leather with hard soles.
  • Hi-Visibility Clothing

All employees of Universal are required to pass an initial drug screening, and are subject to random drug screenings at any time, during any project. Failure of screening or failure to comply will result in immediate termination. Universal does not tolerate any form of substance abuse.
